An “Ijazah” (إجازة) is a prestigious certificate that grants its holder the authority to teach and transmit the Holy Quran. Its fundamental purpose is to establish and preserve the sacred Sanad (سَنَد), the unbroken chain of transmission that traces back directly to our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), ensuring the authenticity of the Quran’s recitation and teachings for all generations.

What Does “Ijazah” Signify?

Linguistically, “Ijazah” means “permission” or “license.” In the context of Quranic studies, it is a certification confirming that the holder has mastered the recitation or memorization of the Quran and is now qualified to pass that sacred knowledge on to others. This certification is granted only after the student has recited the entire Quran word-for-word to a certified teacher who already holds a valid Ijazah.

At Blqlm Academy, we offer two distinct tracks for this esteemed certification:

• Ijazah in Quran Recitation (Qira’at): For mastering the fluent and correct recitation of the entire Quran from the Mushaf, with precise application of all Tajweed rules.

• Ijazah in Quran Memorization (Hifz): For mastering the complete memorization of the Quran and reciting it flawlessly from memory.

1. Evaluation: Begin with a free trial class where our expert teachers will assess your current level of recitation, Tajweed, and memorization.

2. Dedicated Study: Based on your goals, you will enroll in one of our Ijazah tracks and begin your recitation of the entire Quran to your teacher, either from the Mushaf (Recitation) or from memory (Hifz).

3. Certification: Upon successful completion of the course and passing the final recitation, you will be granted your official Ijazah certificate, formally authorizing you as a transmitter of the Holy Quran.
